As part of the Bluecoat 300th Anniversary celebrations DaDaFest will be hosting an evening of discussion and debate celebrating our links with the Bluecoat and exploring the impacts that disability and Deaf arts has had on Merseyside and further afield.
The evening will be an opportunity to both reflect back and look forward. Through both archive material and presentations we will examine the social and political contexts that have determined how disabled and Deaf people are viewed in society and how the current environment of disability and Deaf arts has been informed by this past.
We will also use the Symposium to discuss and share information about the current state of disability and Deaf arts and consider the future, the challenges and the possibilities that are likely to arise.
Invited speakers include Ruth Gould, Mandy Redvers-Rowe, Anne Whitehurst, Brian Lobel, Mandy Colleran, Karen Desborough-Burke, Bisarkha Sarka and Young DaDaFest members.
