Faces in the Wardrobe

Faces in the Wardrobe

I have faces in my wardrobe
It’s hard to know which one to wear
Some are too worn
And some not worn at all
Hurt has become the rags that is now my skin
If they go, I will be cold and naked against it all

They say if you don’t wear something
For a year then get rid of it,
but it’s hard because
I would like to wear painless joy
Near my skin… one day.

I have faces in my wardrobe
It’s hard to know which one to wear

I have no faces. Only masks. This mask has green eyes and is feeling monstrous. Such is the jealousy of one poet towards another when the other does something good.
