Manchester International Festival (MIF) is the world’s first festival of original, new work and special events, staged every two years. From 2020, as well as producing a biennial festival, we will also run The Factory, a new state of the art building and producing organisation in the heart of Manchester.

As we take this step towards The Factory, we’re looking for a warm, engaging and reliable person to support the CEO/Artistic Director and Creative Director. Over the last decade we’ve worked with world-class artists across the spectrum of performing arts, visual arts and popular culture, we want you to work at the heart of our Executive team and help support relationships with artists, industry associates, guests, media and the local artistic community.

Job Description & Duties:

  • Working closely with the Executive Assistant to the Artistic and Creative Directors to coordinate diaries, itineraries, briefings and travel arrangements
  • Researching and preparing notes for meetings and accompanying the Directors on visits/meetings and taking notes as required
  • Preparing presentations for meetings and conferences etc
  • Work with the Directors and relevant Producers to monitor and report on research budgets
  • Supporting both Directors with research into artists, agents and companies and creating and managing the database of creatives
  • Supporting artist relationships and casting arrangements as needed
  • Supporting relationships of both Directors with the local artistic community
  • Supporting the Directors with their training and mentoring responsibilities
  • Supporting Directors as required during the Festival and other busy periods with regards to tickets, guests, media and other requirements

Training and talent development will be central to the organisation as we approach The Factory. All job roles are expected to engage with our training and development activity, be willing to support our training programmes
