Glasgow Zine Library
Glasgow Zine Library is an archive and lending library to operate on the ground floor of 16 Nicholson Street in Glasgow. It acts as a growing archive of self-published works, with an inviting and accessible area of reading in the space, as well as running a year-long programme of events to celebrate the ethos of Do It Yourself (DIY) culture. Workshops, talks, screenings, and social gatherings will encourage people to read, make, do, and share.
GZL seeks to implement a voluntary board of trustees, to be Glasgow-based. The Board of Trustees will meet twice per year with one additional annual general meeting. Other meetings may be called for.
The main functions of GZL trustees are:
- present and consider the annual financial statement
- Assess all external funding and relevant paperwork
- Move forward with programming for the following year, including budgetary concerns
- Bring to the table any ideas for community outreach
As GZL moves forward, we will be expanding, including the merging of Glasgow Zine Fest and the library, registering as a charity, and finding new ways of serving and engaging our community.
