Manchester International Festival (MIF) is the world’s first festival of original, new work and special events, staged every two years. From 2020, as well as producing a biennial festival, we will also run The Factory, a new state of the art building and producing organisation in the heart of Manchester.

Integral to the development of The Factory is the skills and training that the organisation will offer. We are seeking an experienced administrator and communicator to support the development of the new Cultural Skills Consortium and The Cultural Skills offer for The Factory and to play a pivotal part in this innovative programme of work.

Main Purpose

Project coordination to support effective delivery of the GM cultural skills consortium and The Factory Cultural Skills programme

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule and monitor all activities relating to the projects, including preparation of project reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders

• Research new strategic opportunities and partnerships, including internationally

• Support in budget preparation and monitoring

• Support the practical design and operation of activity delivery

• Support fundraising activity and grant applications

• Liaise with and support effective relationships with skills, education and cultural stakeholders

• Liaise with artists, companies and producers in respect of training and education delivery

• Support stakeholder and public events

General

• Actively engaging with the organisation’s vision and policies regarding equal opportunities and diversity, artistic ambition, participation and engagement, health and safety, evaluation and monitoring

• Training and talent development will be central to the organisation as we approach The Factory. All job roles are expected to engage with our training and development activity, be willing to support our training programmes

• Any other duties that are commensurate with the post
