Manchester International Festival (MIF) is the world’s first festival of original, new work and special events, staged every two years. From 2020, as well as producing a biennial festival, we will also run The Factory, a new state of the art building and producing organisation in the heart of Manchester.

As we take this step towards The Factory, we’re looking for creative thinkers who are excited about working with artists to develop their work from the early stages of an idea through to ambitious results. We want Producers who can manage multiple priorities to deliver high quality commissions and productions. You should be confident in managing projects at a range of scales, budgets, and will be both flexible and ambitious in your approach as we grow as an organisation.

Person Specification

• Excited about and able to play a key role in supporting artists to develop their work from the early stages of an idea through to ambitious final production results
• Experience of managing multiple projects at a range of scales and points of development simultaneously
• Financial literacy, including experience of putting together and effectively managing large project budgets
• Strong negotiation skills and experience of negotiating and writing contracts
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• The ability to both work on own initiative and to lead a project team, to assess complicated situations quickly and to identify ways forward creatively
• Ability to engage with and use IT systems appropriate to the organisation
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude and a flexible approach to developing and delivering work with the abiity to manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of a diverse range of cultures and traditions, and proven ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
• Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent

• Experience of working with a range of partners in the UK and internationally to develop and produce ambitious projects
• Understanding and experience of negotiating underlying rights agreements, IP and broadcast
• Experience of managing significant 6 figure project budgets
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for a range of arts and culture
