The Board of the Unicorn Theatre seeks to appoint a visionary, dynamic and ambitious Artistic Director to work alongside the Executive Director to lead the theatre into its eighth decade.

The new Artistic Director of the Unicorn will co-lead the theatre into the next phase of its evolution. Overseeing the theatre’s artistic outputs, producing ambitious and challenging seasons of work for young audiences, and building the reputation and profile of the Unicorn and of children’s theatre more broadly, the right candidate will find opportunities to develop new artistic relationships and initiatives with diverse and world-class artists.

You will be a visionary artistic force, with a track record of bold and successful directing, programming or producing, and the ability to lead a team. You will have the energy and dynamism to see ideas through to completion, the ability to excite colleagues about ideas and goals, and a commitment to young audiences. You will have an understanding of the social, political and financial challenges facing the arts and young people, and the desire to influence wider social or sectoral change.
