Andy Sargent

I was born and live in Nuneaton Warwickshire, although I grew up in Bulkington, one of the outlying villages. After attending school, in 1985 I started a Btec Diploma in General Art & Design at North Warwickshire College of Technology and Art. I completed this two years later gaining a distinction, specialising in Fine Art. In 1987 I went onto study for a degree in Fine Art at Birmingham Polytechnic. Due to the climate at the time in the early '90's, I realised I couldn't support myself as an artist, so I took successive jobs in various fields, whilst taking on private art commissions in my spare time. In June of 2010, I suffered a life changing spinal injury. I managed to stay in work until in 2015 I was retired due to ill-health. In 2016, I made my art my main concern, and now devote my time to expressing myself through my visual art.
