Lauren Saunders

Lauren Saunders is socially-engaged emerging visual artist living & working in Hull. Responding to philosophical questions raised through reflective observation, she translates her thoughts and experiences by drawing in the expanded field. Her varied practice includes exploring mental wellbeing through meaningful arts engagement and the arts as an activist tool for transformational change. Lauren is also producing 'The Critical Fish', an ACE funded artist-led project which aims to develop critical and research-based discussions surrounding art and visual culture. "I intend blog about my experiences as an Emergence Bursary recipient, which includes the opportunities presented to me alongside my time at the Royal Drawing School in summer, but also on the relationships between my arts practice and my mental health."
