Welcome to the new Disability Arts Online!

FacebookTwitter

Welcome to the new look Disability Arts Online! We’ve always been proud of the quality content on the pages of this web journal and now, finally, we have a website that reflects that aesthetically and is hopefully much easier to use.

The new look Disability Arts Online site displayed on a computer screen and smartphone. We hope you, our readers, will enjoy the magazine section, which contains all the news, reviews, interviews and opinion pieces as well as a completely revamped showcase aspect that contains galleries and creative writing.

Our popular directory is in the process of being updated so please get in touch if you know of any organisations or artists you think you should be listed. The listings are now divided into two sections: jobs and events. There are also advertising opportunities now open to artists and arts organisations for a small fee. Please contact Joe Turnbull joe[at]disabilityartsonline.org.uk for details. Our bloggers have a completely new experience with the flexible and friendly user interface that WordPress provides and we have spaces for new blogs so get in touch if you would like to join our community of bloggers. We would also love to hear from you if you have suggestions for articles and features.

There has been a hive of activity over the past 12 months behind the scenes to get to the point of launching this new site. Thanks to the board, staff and freelancers, in particular: Colin Hambrook editor, Joe Turnbull subeditor / project coordinator, Alice Holland freelance producer and Alan Morrison freelance editorial support. Huge thanks to the creative inspiration of Paul Cooke at Take Up Space for the design and the team at Surface Impression for their technical wizardry. Of course none of this would be possible without financial support from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Arts Council England.

We are really keen to hear your feedback on the new site, especially from an access point of view – if you have five minutes spare there is a feedback survey. For general feedback you can email me on trish[at]disabilityartsonline.org.uk and if you’re not already on our weekly mailout, please subscribe here.
