DWP DEATHS MAKE ME SICK shroud for Linda Wootton

Shroud dedicated to Linda Wooton

DWP DEATHS MAKE ME SICK shrouds made by Vince Laws as part of the set for A Very Queer Nazi Faust, a live performance protest, at Norwich Arts Centre, on Weds 12 Sept at 8pm. Tickets £6.66!

On July 24 the shrouds were seen at a DPAC protest at government policies in London and feature in the news story in The Canary. The DEAD PEOPLE DON’T CLAIM banner was there too. Well done Jan and Lewis for getting there.

The shrouds are 6 foot by 4 foot, recycled sheets and duvets, hemmed by volunteers, spray painted using mainly black over stencil letters. Some tell the name and circumstances of death of individuals.

Others give information, and quotes, and statistics. In A Very Queer Nazi Faust these shrouds are giant pages pulled out of John Faust’s ‘blasphemous book of state sanctioned torture’.

Meanwhile, Ann Nicholls’s photos and some info on A Very Queer Nazi Faust is on display at Pride Without Prejudice art show, St Margaret’s Church of Art, St Benedict’s Church Street, Norwich, open 10am-5pm daily, closes 5pm Saturday 4 August, 2018.

A Very Queer Nazi Faust is supported by Unlimited, and the Spirit of 2012, and The Norwich Arts Centre, and Norfolk County Council, and DPAC.
