Brand new 2-week art show, Pimp My Unicorn, launches in Norwich on Monday 22 July from 7pm with a party and entertainment. Organised by Norfolk based poet, artist, and campaigner, Vince Laws, Pimp My Unicorn is artist-led and funded entirely by donations.

I think it’s important for the whole community that an art show happens every year alongside Norwich Pride, so I’ve fundraised £1000 so it’s free for artists to show their work, free for performers, free to hold workshops, and free to visit. If you want to take part, get in touch quickly, or come and have a look, with a view to making work for next year’s show.

Over 100 poets, artists and performers are taking part at short notice, following the cancellation of Pride Without Prejudice art show due to a lack of bookings.

I’m delighted with the response. We’ve got massive bodyscapes, huge portraits, cock paintings, hand crafted pots, collages, disability rights cartoons, paper stitching, photography, dance on a postcard, XR banners, colouring-in pictures, DWP shrouds, Dead People Don’t Claim banner, and much more on display. We’ve got a great Launch line-up, two poetry nights, a live music night, a cabaret night, A Normal For Norfolk Village Fete, a Pride Party, and other events in the pipeline. We’re got workshops on Badge Making, Queer Artists, Pride Collages, Drawing & Talking, Queer Art & Wellbeing, Anti-War Subvertising, and Up-Cycling. All that and we’ll be turning Unicorn Raffles into an art form!
