Carousel champions the rights of artists with a learning disability to flourish and be celebrated. In film, music, performance and digital arts, in our partnerships and training, Carousel is dedicated to making learning disabled creativity a valued part of the cultural landscape. everything we do is inspired by the talents and ambitions of the people we work with. Planned and managed by the artists themselves, our work provides access to the arts for performers and audiences.

Our flagship projects include: the international Oska Bright Film Festival, the worlds leading showcase of films by and featuring people with a learning disability; The Rock House, our music platform that supports musicians and bands to make and tour music; The Blue Camel Club, a social event that breaks down boundaries and brings audiences together for live and online arts adventures; Carousel Radio – a regular broadcast and podcast, developing and sharing the talents of writers and presenters; Carousel House Band and Carousel Chorus, where experimental music-making is encouraged.

Carousel offers skills training for aspiring artists, support schools and colleges through ArtsMark and Arts Awards, and can help venues and organisations become accesssible and welcoming to learning disabled visitors.

People with learning disabilities facing greater isolation and alienation than ever before. Carousel brings those people together, giving them a creative platform where they can tell their stories, learn new skills, grow confidence, make friends and succeed as artists. We’re here to provide a bridge between people with a learning disability and the wider community, ensuring their creativity can be valued and celebrated.
