The aim of the Jennifer Lauren Gallery is to champion and exhibit self-taught and overlooked artists who create works outside the mainstream art world and art history. It aims to showcase undiscovered talents, evolving artists, as well as internationally recognised artists commonly seen as Outsider Artists, whose authentic, raw and honest work speaks for itself.
The vision of the Gallery is to be seen and recognised as a space in the UK supporting, championing and showcasing the above mentioned artists and as a destination for finding out more about this field of art. Jennifer works closely with UK organisations and communities supporting artists with disabilities in order to promote new, unique artists. She is passionate about being a voice and platform for under-represented artists. Jennifer is also a trustee of the Barrington Farm Trust in Norfolk – an organisation supporting learning disabled artists to achieve more in life.
Jennifer Gilbert solely runs the Jennifer Lauren Gallery. She has many years experience supporting, exhibiting and selling unknown, disabled and self-taught artists’ works around the world. She is also a Freelance Producer and Curator, often working with and supporting disabled artists, organisations and galleries. She can also be an access support writer for funding applications for people with access needs.
