Make a Scene is an inclusive Theatre company for young people and adults. We believe in everyone’s talents and love to showcase it.

Make a scene (formerly known as Oxted Young Persons Theatre) is a theatre company for learning disabled young people and adults (18+) based in Surrey and Kent.

Started in 2010 by Andree Trotter who trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and The Brit School. Since then when we had 3 students once a week we have grown to 6 classes a week with 90+ students across a range of locations in both Surrey and Kent and we are expanding even more in the coming months (keep up to date with new classes via our News page).

We felt strongly that there was a real lack of opportunities for disabled actors to partake and enjoy the benefits of drama and acting in the South East of England so we decided to do something about it and start an inclusive theatre company catering especially for them.

All our staff are highly trained to teach drama to people with special needs. In each class we have at least 2 teaching assistants and a drama teacher creating opportunities for everyone’s voice to be heard and all ideas shared. All our staff have up enhanced DBS certificates, safeguarding training and First aid.

Admissions

We take student all year round as long as we have space at our class.
Please call or email if you or your child would like to attend one of our classes.
