Join fingersmiths for the first screening of ‘My Mother Said I Never Should’ for FREE on Thursday 19 November at 7pm.

Presented in BSL and English by 1 hearing and 3 Deaf actresses, with captions throughout. There will be a separate link to an Audio Described version on the website.

My Mother Said I Never Should is a moving and funny exploration of the lives of four generations of women in one family. Shifting back and forth in time, we see their loves, expectations and choices play out against huge social change from 1900-1980s.

The streaming will begin with an introduction from fingersmiths’s Artistic Director and director of the play, Jeni Draper, and cast member, Lisa Kelly.

After the show, there will be a BSL interpreted Q&A with Jeni and the writer, Charlotte Keatley.

If you can’t join on the night, the play will be available on the website until December 17.
