Looking for something fun and creative to do this August?
Join us online on our virtual ‘OPEN ROAD’ CARNIVAL COURSE
10am – 2pm on 15th, 22nd and 29th August
Open Road is for disabled people aged 12+ with an interest in Carnival. One or more family members, house mates and/or Personal Assistants are welcome to join in online.
You’ll get to:
Work with professional Carnival Makers and Choreographers.
Learn some moves (and develop your own!).
Make elements of costume and/or props using materials around your home or sent through the post.
Get creative with others in similar lockdown / shielding circumstances.
To find out more about the course and how to apply visit our website.
Deadline for applications is Monday 27th July.
If you’d like a chat before applying, contact Amy Iles – firstname.lastname@example.org or ring Art Shape on 01452 863855.
This course is part of a national project addressing barriers disabled people face in accessing Carnival. For some, there might be the chance to continue working with the team and other disabled and non-disabled participants ready for Gloucester Carnival in July 2021.
We’ll talk about access needs in advance to see how we may be able to remove barriers to participation
