Outside In is a national arts charity supporting artists who face barriers to the art world for reasons including health, disability, social circumstance or isolation.
Outside In is pleased to announce it will be delivering two Step Up: Exploring Collections courses this spring, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to conduct research into museum and gallery collections, producing their own personal creative responses as a result.
One course will be taking place at West Dean College on Tuesdays from 26 March – 28 May 2019, followed by a six-week period of independent study. There will be two exhibition opportunities as part of this course, which will focus on the college’s collections and archives.
The second course will take place at Pallant House Gallery in Chichester, focusing on works in their collection that feature the South Downs National Park, or landscapes more generally. Some of the responses produced by participants will be displayed at the Gallery alongside their summer exhibition of work by Ivon Hitchens. The course will run from 5 April – 14 June 2019.
Application deadline: 14 March 2019. For more information on either of these courses, and information on how to apply, please visit https://outsidein.org.uk/step-up
Access needs can be supported and costs can be covered where necessary. Both venues have wheelchair access.
