Outside In is excited to announce the launch of the latest Step Up: Exploring Collections training courses as part of its ambitious two year project entitled Patient Artwork: New Dialogues.
The Exploring Collections courses give artists the opportunity to explore, research and respond to unique and important collections across the UK that hold objects and art work made by patients or that relate to the history of mental health.
The courses will be running in partnership with the Mental Health Museum (Wakefield), Glenside Hospital Museum (Bristol) and the Art Extraordinary Collection at Glasgow Museums.
The courses start in September and each courses run one day a week for ten weeks and they are all completely free to attend. The courses are now open for applications from those meeting Outside In’s criteria (facing a barrier to the art world for reasons including health, disability, social circumstance or isolation), and who are local to one of the partner organisations.
We can offer BSL interpretation, captioning and other access features. Venues are fully wheelchair accessible.
