Listen to a conversation between artist/writer Cheryl Martin and writer Rianna Walcott reflecting on their own experiences of mental health and care practices during and emerging from this global health crisis.

Join the online discussion to consider what taking care means for Black women, who are simultaneously dealing with the consequences of the Black Lives Matter movement, social distancing and lockdown. How do we develop new care practices to help us embrace radical change?

Cheryl and Rianna will talk for 40 minutes, and then there will be 15 minutes of questions and answers.

This event will be hosted through the videoconferencing platform BlueJeans. After booking a ticket through our website, you will receive a confirmation email with joining instructions.

You can submit questions in advance via a Slido link, which will be sent to ticket holders in the week before the event. You’ll also be able to ask questions and comment live online using the ‘chat’ function throughout the event. Your microphone and camera will be switched off for the whole session. The event will be live captioned by Stagetext.

‘Supporting Ourselves in Changing Times’ is part of Bloomsbury Festival (16–25 October 2020).

This conversation may mention suicide, self-harm, and childhood sexual/emotional abuse.
