We are looking for applicants who are good communicators, have experience of working with young people aged 16-25 years and proven abilities in project management. You need to have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to interpret the needs of young people and to support volunteers. You also need to be confident and engaging with good presentation skills to explain and sell our work to prospective supporters and volunteers, both digitally and in person.
Arts Emergency has been working in London since 2011 supporting young people (aged 16-25) through their mentoring programme. We have developed a huge community of mentors from across the creative industries and currently support over 900 underrepresented local young people to pursue higher education, creativity and careers. As Programme Officer, your work will be at the heart of the mentoring project in London and you will be responsible for working with our mentees recruited through partner schools. This will include recruiting, matching and supporting new mentor pairs. The post requires good admin and time management skills, ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and balancing several priorities at once. It is a busy, fun and rewarding role.
In 2022 we are working towards doubling the size of the London programme and to support at least 300 young people across the London boroughs via direct applications and recruiting through partner schools.
You will work closely with the Programmes Manager, the London Programme Executive and the wider Arts Emergency team across the country to deliver and grow our mentoring project in London. To include recruiting eligible volunteers, organising mentor training events, working with partner schools and colleges promoting the mentoring project as well as maintaining and enhancing existing relationships.
Our headquarters is based in London N4. No requirement to be based in the office until at least March 2022 and we support flexible working. Full-time Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu will be organised.
