Bristol Music Trust seeks Assistant House Manager

Closing Date: 20 January 2020

Bristol Music Trust

Location: Bristol

Remuneration: £22,600 per annum

We are recruiting for an Assistant House Manager to join our team, managing our range of programme and commercial events at Colston Hall and our Southmead site, Bristol Plays Music.

We are currently in a major transformation period, where extensive redevelopment work is being undertaken in our two main auditoriums, which are currently closed. This work will be completed towards the end of 2021 and during this time we have a programme of limited evening foyer performances and a full programme of daytime and some evening commercial events such as trade fairs, meetings, conferences and parties. These take place at our Southmead site and other spaces around the city.

The successful candidate will be positive and enthusiastic, with previous experience of the operational requirements in an events delivery organisation either in the cultural or hospitality sector. We have a busy customer/visitor-focussed environment where the AHM will be the first point of contact for many visitors and clients. You will be a visible presence within the building, have an excellent understanding of what makes for great customer service at all times and be passionate about working with people. Working closely with colleagues across our operational team you will coordinate the requirements for events within both buildings, including setting up spaces, providing responses to a range of issues, and being able to work independently as required to manage events and deliver an enjoyable experience for all our patrons, visitors, clients and customers.

We are looking for applicants who will be available to work during the day, evenings, weekends and some Bank Holidays to support our current programme of events. Travel between both sites will be required.
