WHAT IS FILM ROUTES?

Film Routes will support three people from the North of England to:

> Develop a five-minute film idea into a full draft script
> Be matched with a producer to try and raise funding to make the film.

WHY WE ARE DOING THIS

People with disabilities are chronically underrepresented in the screen industries.

It is through the creative sectors that society reflects and understands itself. If disabled people aren’t in that reflection – in both on and off-screen roles – then it’s not just disabled people who lose out. Society loses out too.

This project aims to test one way of helping to redress this. Film Hub North have asked Beacon Films to design a supported workshop process for people with disabilities, to generate more projects that can then go on to seek production funding.

YOU CAN APPLY TO FILM ROUTES IF…

> You have a great idea for a five-minute film
> You are aged 18 or over
> You are not in full time education
> You have made a film before (and you were involved in making it, not just acting in it)
> You identify as having a disability*
> You live in the Film Hub North area (visit www.filmhubnorth.org.uk/fhn/about to see where this includes)

If your answer to all these questions is YES then you are eligible to apply.
