We are looking for enthusiastic professional people with skills and experience in any of these areas:

• Business and Commerce, including Business innovation.
• Accountancy and Financial
• Disability Arts Movement
• Cultural and/or Arts Policy expert
As a disabled person or a strong ally, you will be joining a strong Board whose members have a rich diversity of backgrounds across a number of professional fields.
The new trustees will gain knowledge and in depth specialist experience supporting a dynamic disabled-led barriers-removing creative organisation which makes landmark content and output around the world. You get to support and help an innovative organisation which is at the cutting edge of new culture – barriers removing, diverse reach, new forms and constantly evolving.
You will attend the Quarterly Board meetings, plus be on one of the two quarterly sub-committees, either Programme or HR/Finance sub committees. These meetings are currently (Spring 2020) all conducted remotely through Microsoft Teams (or Zoom).
As you will be aware, Trustees are about Governance so we will not expect you at all to take on any management or delivery elements; the role is very much overview, critical friend and discussion, led by the Shape Chair Tony Heaton OBE.
You will receive a warm reception from the Board and staff and be valued for your critical friend role, too. You will have the opportunity to attend the events such as Unlimited at the Southbank, NDMAC receptions at the House of Lords, and local dynamic gallery events, too.
You will be in involved in a culture of ‘open knowledge’ whereby all share their talent, knowledge and views in a constructive and positive model in which we are all both learning and leading. We are about cultural production, but we need skills from a range of supporting talents, such as legal, financial, charity protocols and new tech .
As a trustee, like all of us in public office, you would need to know and observe the Nolan principles of public life.
