The Almeida Theatre is seeking Directors for our Key Workers Project, a cycle of nine plays celebrating the humour, the hope and the stories of those who keep our daily lives running. The plays will be 25 minutes long each and will each have a different director.
We are keen to meet directors who are new to the Almeida as well as consider directors that we know well.
Each play will be performed by a company of professional and community performers. The community companies will include, keyworkers, people who interact with keyworkers as public service users and young people.
As such, we are looking for directors who have a genuine interest in and experience of working with community participants and ideally of working on projects that combine professional and community performers. You will need to be available in January 2022 and run some ad hoc rehearsals in the autumn.
