In June 2020, Theatre Royal Plymouth will stage This Land, our first ever international community production. This Land is an epic theatrical event marking the 400 year anniversary of the Mayflower’s journey and its impact upon arrival in America.
Created and performed by 120 citizens of Plymouth, UK and 30 members of the Native American Wampanoag Tribe from Massachusetts, USA, This Land is the story of what happened then and what it means to us now.
Witness the making of history with this unique and vital piece of theatre, which brings together communities from both sides of the Atlantic.
With text by Nick Stimson and songs written and performed by Seth Lakeman.
We are seeking an Assistant to the Company Manager to join the Production team for This Land.
The Assistant to the Company Manager will work closely with the Company Manager to support the community cast and the work of the Director, Alan Lane during rehearsals and production week.
Responsibilities will include:
With the Company Manager- ensure that schedules are kept up to date, distributed and followed.
Liaise with all departments to ensure good communication is maintained within the production team and with the theatre.
Assist with manoeuvring large groups around the rehearsal space and theatre
Regularly check in with all company members to ensure that their well-being is being supported
Be intuitive and responsive with supporting the welfare and comfortable stay of the Wampanoag cast
Together with the Stage Management team, manage a well-organised, clean, efficient and safe working environment
Assist the Company Manager in the event of emergency or fire evacuations
Play an active role in the life of the production and work across departments to develop a positive and engaged organisational culture.

Please note that this is a Freelance position with a Freelance Fee of £2727. Therefore you will be responsible for your own tax and national insurance contributions and must have a unique tax reference number.
