The Unicorn Theatre is looking for an efficient and creative Front of House Manager to oversee the theatre’s audience welcome and experience, and manage and nurture a strong usher team.
The Unicorn has a strong reputation for delivering a creative, welcoming, efficient and accessible environment for its young audiences, and this role is key in presenting the theatre’s ethos and core values.
In addition to being responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of performance operations, this role ensures that the theatre’s brand values are reflected in every element of the audience experience. At the Unicorn, all our brand values flow through from our artistic programme and inform FOH operations from merchandise to events to welcome and accessibility. This adds unique flavour and variety to the FOH Manager role, with responsibilities ranging from supervising the Unicornershop, to maintaining the Usher+ programme for staff with additional needs, to delivering creative audience engagement activities during holidays and at weekends. The FOH Manager administrates all staff rotas and runs and reports on merchandise and café budgets, delivering ambitious targets for innovative income generation.
You will have a hands-on approach to all aspects of operational responsibility and be a natural problem-solver. You will have a proven understanding of customer relations, budgetary management and team leadership. You will be creative and resourceful in event planning and foyer design, within the parameters set by the Producer. The Unicorn will be committed to your development in the role, providing internal and external training and mentoring to support your work here.
