We are seeking London-based disabled, d/Deaf and Neurodivergent playwrights and script writers to join Wellspring, a new professional development programme.
Participants will take part in an intensive course of creative writing; covering character, plot devices and development, tools of inspiration, language, rhythms of narrative and other technical skills essential to writing a script.
The sessions will be facilitated by Alex Bulmer, Cheryl Martin, Sophie Woolley and Vici Wreford – Sinnott, who will frame the sessions with an explicitly political aim of creating a new vanguard in disabled writing.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 22 July 2021.
You don’t have to have written a play before, though you are welcome if you have. All you need is a passion for the world you live in and a curiosity for what words and stories might be within you.
Wellspring is delivered in partnership with Paines Plough, the Bush Theatre and Theatre503, and is funded by City Bridge Trust.
