VocalEyes is looking for a Programme Manager to run our Museums, Galleries and Heritage Programme. The successful candidate will have excellent project management, communication and relationship development skills. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be self-motivated, resourceful and have a passion for access and inclusion in the arts and heritage.

VocalEyes is an arts organisation and charity that works with and for blind and visually impaired people: creating accessible performances, events and digital media for arts and heritage venues across the UK, primarily through audio description services. Funded by Arts Council England as part of their National Portfolio, our team of audio describers, trainers and consultants work with hundreds of theatres, museums, galleries, and heritage sites each year.

The Museums, Galleries and Heritage (MGH) Programme Manager is responsible for one of VocalEyes’ three main programmes (the others being Film and Theatre). You will work with clients in the MGH sector to make their sites, collections, events and services inclusive, engaging and enjoyable for blind and visually impaired people by managing a portfolio of projects for sector clients across the UK and occasionally internationally. Your role is to provide expert advice to our clients and provide solutions to their access needs within the scope of our service which includes: delivery of recorded audio description, training in visual awareness and audio description techniques; audience advocacy, promotion of events and other bespoke services used to develop audiences which can include advice on evaluation, delivering focus groups etc. The projects will be delivered by our network of freelance contractors.
