The Creative Future Writers’ Award, New Writing South and Preston Park Recovery Centre are pleased to offer a unique development opportunity for a talented, emerging/mid-career under-represented writer who is interested in working with vulnerable adults and/or in non-traditional spaces. It offers time and space to write and support to develop your career.

The 2020 Writer In Residence will:

Undertake a 10 day on-site residency at Preston Park Recovery Centre, an award-winning mental health recovery day centre in Brighton
Produce one reflective blog post and one piece of creative writing in your genre, which will be published in the 2020 CFWA anthology
Sit on the Creative Future Writers’ Award judging panel
Attend the 2020 showcase event and read your work
We are ideally looking for a candidate who will also lead our CFWA Brighton workshops—24 workshops across three locations.

The residency takes place between April-October 2020 and includes an honorarium of £5,000.

This residency is aimed at emerging/mid-career writers with a track record of publication/a professional writing career.

Applications must be received no later than 11:59pm on Sunday 23 February 2020.
