We’re looking for a Participation Producer to join our Taking Part department.

Based on The Cut in Waterloo, we produce new plays, classics, musicals, adaptations of books, short films, digital projects and more. We attract large audiences from many different backgrounds; we have deep connections in our neighbourhood where we provide extensive free activities. For many years the theatre has been synonymous with staging international works created by some of the world’s finest directors, performers and creatives; productions that say much about the world we live in.

The purpose of the Taking Part Department is to provide schemes that develop a love of theatre, nurture creativity and promote closer links between the Young Vic and the local community. In consultation with the Director of Taking Part, the Participation Producer will develop and implement schemes to deliver Taking Part’s aims with young people aged 14 – 25. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of project management or equivalent in an arts setting and a proven commitment to social inclusion within the arts.

We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. We are particularly keen to hear from people of colour and candidates who self-identify as disabled. All candidates who self-identify as disabled who demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria will be invited for interview. The Young Vic is committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
